Summer update

Wow, my last post was at the end of June. Time just flies by so fast. This summer we didnt do to much. We went to Disneyland a lot and Universal. We went to the Aquarium, the beach and Vegas. For Avanti's birthday party we had a cheerleading party at Mc Cambridge and we all wore Jerseys or cheer outfits. Avanti wore a USC cheer outfit, I wore a USC jersey, Kennedy wore a New Orleans Jersey and Jimmy - his high school jersey. Isela choreagraphed a cheer for the kids and it was really cute. Andy made Avanti a two tier fondant cheer cake with purple and pink velvet. My parents BBQ'd and everyone enjoyed themselves. Avanti got a ton of barbies. On August 1st we went to Vegas with Jimmy for a few days. We stayed at Nellis AFB at family housing and Kennedy and Avanti were so excited. It was like we had an apartment of our own. It was cute. We went to the aquarium at Mandalay Bay, saw the lions at MGM, went to the miracle mile mall, outlets and out to eat. It was so hot it was 110 degrees! We all enjoyed ourselves.

June

The month of June has been very busy. We've been all over the place. Avanti's been out of school so we try to stay busy. Kennedy is now 18 months and is so much fun. He says many words.

Avanti started summer school and is doing great. the good thing about it its only 4 days a week and for a few hours a day. She only has two more weeks to go.

Avanti is really into build a bear. She always wants friends or outfits for her furry friends. So far she has Hello Kitty, Shiloh, Rossy and Kennedy has Buzzy and Joey.

Universal Studios

The month of May was very busy. As you can tell.... I didnt do any post. The first weekend in May Jimmy worked and I took the kids to Universal Studios. It was a really nice day and lots of fun stuff to do at City walk and the park. We got on Shrek 4D. Kennedy go scared but Avanti and I really liked it. We mostly walked around the park and took pictures. We've gone to Disneyland a bunch of times this month as well. Yeah, my mom came back on the 17th... FINALLY. We went to Long Beach to Famous Dave's for lunch and walked around the pike and on Sunday we went out to lunch as well to Sizzler. Its nice to have the whole family back together.

April

So this month has gone by so fast. My mom is still in Mexico and we miss her so much. Kennedy is getting more teeth and Avanti lost her first tooth!! It was two weeks ago. She told me her tooth was loose over the weekend and On Tuesday she handed me her tooth when she was watching TV. She didnt cry. She just wanted a Barbie from the tooth fairy. So of course, the next day. Jimmy only put $5 under her pillow and we went to Target and she picked out a Barbie (we paid the difference). She was so happy and we saved her tooth.

Disneyland... again

So this Sunday we went to Disneyland with my cousin Alfredo and his wife and daughter, my aunt Carmela, my cuz Letty and their mother in law. It was nice and warm and the lines werent too long. It was my niece's first trip to Disneyland so she was amazed! We had a good time and good lunch over at Tortilla Joes. Avanti's new favorite ride is the Pirates of the Caribean. All day she was like "lets go on pirates" Kennedy loves its a small wonder and the pixar parade. I finally after 5 years got to go on tower of terror at Ca Adventure with ALfredo and Letty. It was so much fun!!! I had fun with my bubble cousins.

Spring Break

Avanti is on Spring Break this week and since its her first official spring break we wanted to go out and do some fun stuff. Originally, we were suppose to go to San Diego but we didnt have as much money as we thought and we werent able to get a room on base either so we decided to make the most out of staying at home.

On Monday my mom made us breakfast (which was sweet) and we went to the Aquarium in Long Beach and did a boat ride. It was Kennedy's first boat ride and he had a blast. We tried out a new restaraunt called Rock Bottom on Pine and Ocean and it was so good. I had a bahama mama drink and it was bomb! We had ice cream at cold stones and then headed home. On the way home, Avanti started talking in spanish saying different numbers and words, and I was cracking up! She was like, "uno, dos, quatro, ocho, nueve, diez, sies, rojo, azul..." Hilarious!!!!

On Tuesday we went to both Disneyland and California Adventure. It was so crowded and HOT. We didnt get much done but we saw playhouse disney and ate at Tortilla Joes. Kennedy fell asleep for over 4 hours. He was tired!!!

On Weds, my abuelito Andres was in an accident and my mom and Chuy left to Mexico so I took them to LAX. The good news is that it seems like he will be ok.

And today, Thursday... we went to breakfast at Nats, Sbux and then Zuma beach. We had been to the beach before but it was Kennedy's first official beach visit. We actually set up blankets and towels and had sand toys. Avanti had so much fun. I told her to lay down so that the waves would go over her and she listed and the wave came and almost took her. Jimmy was holding her hand of course, but I was laughing so hard I almost peed. Best moment of the whole day. Afterwards, we went to the Navy base and bought some stuff and came home.

And tomorrow Jimmy goes back to work and I am just going to rest in the morning and then go do a little Easter shopping. I love my family.... they are a funny bunch.

Easter Pictures

This week on Weds. we went and took our family Easter pictures. We've made it a tradition that we take family pictures for Christmas and for Easter. Last year Kennedy was only a few months old and now he is 14 months and all over the place. Avanti is a lot smarter and is doing so much better in school. We decided to wear yellow for our pictures. We usually do plain colors but Im happy with the way they came out. Avanti is 5 1/2 and Kennedy is 14 months. Jimmy and I are both 26.
