Another day another tooth

Avanti has been growing so much this year. She is now six and has lost many of her baby teeth. We were having lunch at Elephant Bar and she says, "Mommy my tooth fell" I said, "you're lucky you didnt eat it" lol. The tooth fairy called us on the phone and told Daddy that Avanti was getting a build bear for losing a tooth and to make sure she didnt forget to put her tooth under her pillow.

Its starting to feel like Christmas

This week Avanti had Thursday, Friday, the weekend and Monday off. On Friday, November 12th we went to Disneyland to kick of the holiday season. Disney was all done up... christmas lights, decorations, carolers, and special holida treats. We watched the Christmas parade which was so cute. Kennedy was swinging side to side along to the songs and Avanti's face was lit up and she was waving at the characters and it was so nice. We saw gingerbreads, cute chubby snowman, reindeer, the Disney classics, the princesses, and of course good old Santa and Mrs. Claus. We walked over to the ranch in the back and saw all the cute reindeer and Santa Claus. Kennedy didnt cry with Santa this year. We finished the night off by walking over to build a bear and making some new holiday friends. Avanti made a snowflake teddy bear that she named Jan and Kennedy made a Velocirapter (dinasour) and we named him Rocko. The drive home was so long because of the horrible traffic but got home and went straight to sleep. I'm excited for the holiday season but I really want to help out a family in need. I plan on giving back because I know that their are lots of deserving wonderful kids that should get a great Christmas. I'll let you know how that goes.

Halloween

This Halloween didnt really feel like Halloween. We went to breakfast at Coral Cafe and then off to Boo at the Zoo. We got their a little before they opened so it was great we got in the zoo and beat the crowds. We did a little trick or treating and got some good looks at some of the animals that we dont get to see that often. We saw the snow leopards not just their tail, we actually saw the hippo awake and playing. We got to touch hissing cocharoaches, a bearded dragon and a snake. Later in the day we went to a Halloween party and then to our friend Torres's house where Jimmy helped scare the kids and I went trick or treating with the kids. We got home and gave out some candy and called it a night. Kennedy fell and bonked his head on our front porch.... I got really scared but it was nothing. He missed the step. Avanti and Kennedy were both pirates and Jimmy and I didnt dresss up.

Halloween Time

On Tuesday Oct. 12th we went to Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland. Right when Avanti got out of school we drove straight there. Both the kids were pirates. No one in the entire park had Kennedy's costume and only one girl had Avanti's costume. My favorite part of the event was the haunted mansion. OMG, they decorated and made it look so good. You feel like you're in the Nightmare before Christmas. The event was great. No lines for the rides and lots and lots of yummy candy. We only did about 1/4 of the trick or treating and had over 4 full bags of candy. Kennedy's favorite part of the event was the Halloween parade. He was so excited to see all his favorite disney characters. Avanti loved the dancing and pirates. Her favorite ride is Pirates of the Carribean. Kennedy's is the merry go round and small world.

It was so funny. We went to take pictures with the Disney villans and when it was our turn Avanti was so serious. I think she thought they were real or something because she was so still and just looking at the camera she wouldnt look at them in the face. We took pictures with Melificent, the evil queen and Jafar.

The whole park looks super cute and festive. The fall is one of my favorite seasons. It was our second year going and I think it will be a yearly thing. New tradition for us.

Barba Weekend

This weekend was my cousins wedding. Chicol has been like a brother to me. Every year when I use to go to Mexico, Chicol and his bro Fernando use to all play together, go to water parks and just have fun. I was the only girl but they always made me laugh. A few years ago, he moved to the States and now he's married. I just met his wife Yuri a day before the wedding. She's so nice. I'm so happy for the both of them. Their wedding was a lot of fun and we had a nice weekend. We went to the Wild Animal park and ended up getting the pass. It a nice Barba weekend. Congratulations Chicol and Yuri. We love you.

Open Auditions

As you all know, Avanti auditioned last year for the Nutcracker and got a part as a mouse. This year, she auditioned and also got a part! She will be a bon-bon. We are so proud of our little ballerina. This Fall we wont have any free Saturdays because of dance class and rehearsals but it's all worth it when we see her up on stage. The show this year is on Sunday, December 12th.

Summer update

Wow, my last post was at the end of June. Time just flies by so fast. This summer we didnt do to much. We went to Disneyland a lot and Universal. We went to the Aquarium, the beach and Vegas. For Avanti's birthday party we had a cheerleading party at Mc Cambridge and we all wore Jerseys or cheer outfits. Avanti wore a USC cheer outfit, I wore a USC jersey, Kennedy wore a New Orleans Jersey and Jimmy - his high school jersey. Isela choreagraphed a cheer for the kids and it was really cute. Andy made Avanti a two tier fondant cheer cake with purple and pink velvet. My parents BBQ'd and everyone enjoyed themselves. Avanti got a ton of barbies. On August 1st we went to Vegas with Jimmy for a few days. We stayed at Nellis AFB at family housing and Kennedy and Avanti were so excited. It was like we had an apartment of our own. It was cute. We went to the aquarium at Mandalay Bay, saw the lions at MGM, went to the miracle mile mall, outlets and out to eat. It was so hot it was 110 degrees! We all enjoyed ourselves.
