Avanti's 2nd Nutcracker Performance

This Sunday was the Red Chair Children's Production Company's The Nutcracker. Avanti auditioned and got the part of the Bon Bon. After four months of weekend rehearsal and a crazy last two weeks it all paid off when we saw her on stage. Their were two shows at 1:00 and 6:30 PM. It was at the historic Alex Theatre in Glendale, Ca. I got to watch the 1:00 show and it was nice. I went by myself and got a great seat. Afterwards Avanti and I went to CPK across the street and had dinner. It was nice to spend some time just the two of us. I was stage parent for the night show so I stayed and Jimmy, my dad, bro and Letty went to go see her. They did great. Avanti has a lot of expression in her face when she was dancing and remembered her number. The bon bons had the only audience participation. Everyone was clapping along with them. Seeing her on stage just brightens me up. Her smile, her energy, her enthusiasm. We are so proud of you Avanti!!!

Random Pictures

These are a few random pictures from the last two weeks. Last Sunday we went to Disneyland and finally went over to the Garden Walk and had brunch at the Cheesecake Factory then went off to Ca. Adventure and did a few rides and just went home when it got super windy. This week on Weds. 12/1 we met up with Jimmy for lunch at Balboa Lake and had lunch and then Kennedy chased the ducks. We had a nice walk and then headed home. And Lastly, this Sunday, we had Jimmy's Xmas party and had to leave early because of Nutcracker rehearsal.

261st Holiday Party

On Sunday, December 5th, Jimmy had his work Christmas party at the base. Avanti was looking forward to it all week. She was so excited to see Santa arrive in a helicopter. Of course, we told her that the reindeer had to rest so Santa took a helicopter. Even Kennedy, who by the way is not a big Santa fan, was excited to see him as he approached in the helicopter. Maybe because Kennedy loves planes, cars and trains.... and since Santa was in "plane" he figured he was a good guy. The look on both their faces was priceless. I wish I got that excited over something. Well, Santa arrived and he greeted the kids, took pictures and then walked over to the Christmas tree where he had gifts for all the kids. Avanti received hungry hungry hippo (which was on xmas list) and Kennedy received a Doctor kit. They got to ride a big military truck around the base, and jump on the obstacle course which they both loved.

It was nice to see the wifes. I hadnt seen Jamir's wife or the comm wife in a long time. Everyone looked great and as always super nice. The only one missing was Roldan.

Clogged Up

My goodness, last week I had a meeting every night. On top of that Kennedy was constipated. I know thats TMI (too much info) but what a pain in the butt it was .... literally. Poor thing didnt poop in three days. He was extremely cranky. Thank God, now.... he's going bathroom about twice a day. I hope we dont go through with that again.

Nutcracker presents... Avanti the Bon Bon

So this is the second year that Avanti auditions and gets a part in the Red Chair Production Company's Nutcracker. It is a Christmas show put on every year. Last year she was a cute little mouse and this year she is an adorable Bon Bon. We have no weekends. I am looking forward to the performance. I know she will do great. I am so proud of her.

Another day another tooth

Avanti has been growing so much this year. She is now six and has lost many of her baby teeth. We were having lunch at Elephant Bar and she says, "Mommy my tooth fell" I said, "you're lucky you didnt eat it" lol. The tooth fairy called us on the phone and told Daddy that Avanti was getting a build bear for losing a tooth and to make sure she didnt forget to put her tooth under her pillow.

Its starting to feel like Christmas

This week Avanti had Thursday, Friday, the weekend and Monday off. On Friday, November 12th we went to Disneyland to kick of the holiday season. Disney was all done up... christmas lights, decorations, carolers, and special holida treats. We watched the Christmas parade which was so cute. Kennedy was swinging side to side along to the songs and Avanti's face was lit up and she was waving at the characters and it was so nice. We saw gingerbreads, cute chubby snowman, reindeer, the Disney classics, the princesses, and of course good old Santa and Mrs. Claus. We walked over to the ranch in the back and saw all the cute reindeer and Santa Claus. Kennedy didnt cry with Santa this year. We finished the night off by walking over to build a bear and making some new holiday friends. Avanti made a snowflake teddy bear that she named Jan and Kennedy made a Velocirapter (dinasour) and we named him Rocko. The drive home was so long because of the horrible traffic but got home and went straight to sleep. I'm excited for the holiday season but I really want to help out a family in need. I plan on giving back because I know that their are lots of deserving wonderful kids that should get a great Christmas. I'll let you know how that goes.
